Travelling with Roots

Cultures from Eastern Europe

Every human being has his roots, which sometimes have to be pulled out of the ground in order to break new ground with them and take root again in another place. Old and new things mix and a new basis for life is created. This metaphor applies to many people from the countries of Eastern Europe.

How this process is reflected in artistic forms of expression can be seen, heard and experienced in this event. Tatar opera arias, Roma music, Jewish music and a Slavic choir will be heard, as well as dances, short films and a Chechen-German literary reading. Immerse yourself with us in the old and new world of Eastern European cultures.
